“Winter trees” By Caroline Walker, Pastel & Watercolour on Paper
17" x 28"
Caroline Walker is a Yorkshire based artist who specialises mainly in landscape and seascape paintings.
Caroline holds a bachelor’s degree with honours in Textile Design from Leeds University and has since then worked as an Art Teacher and Head of Art, before dividing her time between painting and supply teaching.
Light and colour form an integral part of her work, as does capturing the beauty and tranquillity of special places. Caroline is passionate about painting and loves to paint coastal scenes in all their different moods. She predominantly uses pastels, combining them with watercolours as she finds the wonderful vibrant colours and velvety textures best suited to her subjects. These are mostly of the East Coast where her parents now live and Devon, Dorset and Ireland, which are the family’s favourite holiday destinations.
Caroline first exhibited her work in Ilkley in September 2002 and was elected a companion of the International Guild of artists on her first showing. She has also had several solo exhibitions at the Spa in Bridlington.
