Keith Haring Original Subway Chalk Drawing

During the 1980s, Haring transformed the New York City subway system into his personal canvas. Working on black paper panels installed over expired advertising posters, he created spontaneous chalk drawings that brought art directly to the public. His process was as extraordinary as the work itself: stepping off a subway train, completing a drawing in the brief moments before the doors closed, and disappearing back into the rhythm of the city.
