I am an artist from Queens NY studying Fine Arts. I love exploring nature and human form in my artwork. I use various mediums especially in painting and drawing. I use art to unravel and heal myself and hope to share that with others.
Light and shadow is the make up of what we see. The absence of light is darkness and colors are reflections of light. The process of painting and drawing has allowed me to explore the relationship of light and dark through observation that can be transformed by medium to portray a further nature. My vision of lights and darks formulate what I see- what we all see. Color can seem to blend the two but it belongs to light. Light is the clarity of what see and to me, represents a projection of life itself. Light is an archetype to most art because it merely is the essence of the transcendent in the production of art making. Color enhances light and gives it further existence.
I have considered this idea in my process of using oil paint. Each additional layer is another color mixed into existence for that very moment. The colors represent the layers of life which compose from one's individual experiences. Painting is all about creating the individual experience. And I create a life line with the painting through my individual experience with it. I focus on human forms to relate these ideas into personal connections and emotions that come from the human experience and/or condition. The nature of observation and the unique perception from every individual gives insight into how experiences form our life.
