Bio:
My name is Cynthia Pareja Dubin
I was born in Lima, Perú; when I was 19 I moved to study graphic design
in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
While I was in the Universidad de Palermo, taking art, design workshops and learning from experienced professors, living in a city of inexhaustible sources of inspiration, I fostered my passion towards painting, designing and communicating visually. I realized that art is what I wanted to do, for the rest of my life.
My paintings and digital artwork are based on fantasy and experiences that I have had throughout my life, the images I create also emerge from personal feelings that are part of my internal world, that has increasingly found itself building a reality that lives around but outside the universe we see everyday.
Colors and shapes have their own artistic value, and their symbolic function is produced by the relationship between them. Playing with abstraction, geometry, photography, and imposing them on different surfaces, I create their own universe, manifested by an emotional process.
I am always trying to reinvent myself. I use a variety of materials, like cutout photographs, old papers, unfinished paintings and wood. Currently I am experimenting with digital art, implementing pieces of old paintings or collages and creating new fantasy universes.
