Romeo Venci

My name is Romeo Venci and I am an artist here in the United States. I am here to describe a little bit about what art is to me. Art is not something I just woke up and decided to do. It took a lot of time experimenting with different techniques and mediums for me to actually decide to want to pursue it. Art is not something that I do for fun, but more as an escape.

Art found me in a low and dark place in my life. It gave me purpose and happiness while giving me fulfillment at a time when I needed it the most. I could go on about everything that art is to me but I won’t bore you with that.

I taught myself about different mediums, styles of art, and different materials that can be used. It took a long time of experimenting with everything until I finally made something that just felt right and that I was proud. When I finished It just felt right to name it. It took me a while to come up with something, until I just randomly said bàcati. This is a word that I ultimately created not only to name by painting but to also name my new style of painting.

I decided to use a made up word to describe my work because I felt that there was no true style that I practiced within my work. My pieces are colorful, vibrant, confusing, but also soothing. There are many explosions of emotions within my work stemming from deep feelings within me. I want people to feel and connect to their inner emotions every time they look at one of my pieces.

My work means so much to me, and is a literal piece of me. By looking at my art you get an inside look at me and who I am on the inside. I will always continue to make art to share with the world. With this I hope that my work can help change the way we all view the world and can leave a lasting impression on who we are as humans.
