Mixed Media on Canvas
Born in Japan, raised in the U.S, Mami has been working in the entertainment industry as a vocalist since 18 years old. Music therefore, has been a big part of her life.
Having a mother who is a painter, the world of art was another familiar environment to her but never picked up the brush herself until 3years ago. After finally starting, she has not stopped. It was an instant love and attachment she felt towards art/painting. To Mami , painting has a strong link to music and as she says ,” painting is like writing a song without melody and/or lyrics. Instead, you make use of lines, shapes, colors and lights”.
A lot of her artworks are inspired by the “beauty” she encounters in her life. Any possible encounter within human life...let it be nature, people, objects, cities and countries, memories, conversations, energy, feelings etc.
Mami creates with definition, texture, and a dash of shimmer...
