Artist Statement: My intention is to create art that bears witness to racial equality and the beauty of ethnicities in opposition to the rising tide of nationalism. I love using rich and vibrant colors in my art because I believe the colors we embrace both uplifts and reflects the vibrancy of our soul.
Bio: I was born and raised in London and left home to study fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology, NYC. I initially worked as an assistant designer for a leisure wear designer in Manhattan before moving to Maryland to become a children's wear patternmaker. I eventually developed bespoke tailoring skills and opened a custom tailoring shop in Bethesda, MD. I now reside in the Atlanta, GA metro area, where I paint out of my home studio.
Artistic Influences: Modigliani, Picasso, and Britto.
“It took me quite a long time to develop a voice, and now that I have it, I’m not going to be silent.” Madeline Albright
“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see.” Edgar Degas
