Debra Robertson is a native Texan and former art educator with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from University of Austin, Texas. Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas but currently resides in Austin for the past 21 years. Robertson has worked as an art educator teaching elementary art in public and private schools. She has always been an artist since she was a child. Robertson works in watercolor, Acrylic, Oil paint and also has works in sculptural ceramics. Robertson is Inspired by nature but has a love for abstract design. She is very passionate about the environment and would love to inspire conservation through art. Robertson’s work has been Published in, “The Peace Project,” and has exhibited a photograph at Aperture Gallery in New York for the Peace Rises exhibit in 2011. Robertson regularly donates her work to support various charity organizations. Robertson has had artwork exhibited at Mexic-Arte, Mi Casa, and Its About Thyme in Austin, Texas. She is also an artist /designer for Vida Clothing under the name Ravensoulsart.
Robertson’s theory of art is similar to metamorphosis, which is a profound change of form from one stage to the next in the life history of an organism. Art starts off in the mind's eye or imagination, then through a series of artistic actions gives the artwork its various stages of life. To her art is an ever- changing process that evolves in time.
