Michelle Drummond’s artwork exudes the true expression of a Caribbean’s woman cultural pride, exuberance for life and adventure. Her collection of work reflects her journey from a wide eyed 19-year-old young woman who left her home country Jamaica, for the United States, an unfamiliar environment and culture, to evolving into a confident, proud woman and mother.
She discovered early in her journey while at University that manipulating yarn and acrylic paint on canvas was a creative outlet that helped her to function, navigate and survive this new and exciting world. Each piece of artwork is inspired by experiences at various stages in her adventures and has evolved over the years to reflect her strength, maturity and growth.
