Inspired by the works of other artists, Ariana began frequently painting in high school, where she received the “Most Promising Artist” award. For Ariana, painting is an escape and an expression of beauty. This is apparent through the mostly female subjects she paints and the personal closeness that the viewer is drawn to in her work.
Ariana brings an insight to her painting with a mixture of emotions, longing and wistful yearning.
The women in her work peer out from the canvas, drawing the viewer into their depth and encouraging a conversation with a diverse gallery of characters. A graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and the Master in Liberal Arts program at the University of St. Thomas, Ariana is a past resident of Manhattan and is currently working and residing in Houston, Texas.
