Alison Michaela (b. Brisbane) is an Australian, mixed media artist whose work centres on the experiences of the mind. She is influenced by the memory of theatrical performance, and the mental and physical sensations that occur in response to emotive music. Having enjoyed a career firstly in violin teaching then in visual design, Alison holds a Bachelor of Music and Graphic Design Diploma. Her interest in both musical and visual disciplines drives the subject matter of her art practice. Alison’s figurative works merge the ideas of surrealism, expressionism and abstraction whilst bridging the techniques of drawing and painting.
