"My art is based on the figurative genre. Ordinary, everyday people being central to my work, each painting offers an opportunity to discover a new insight into how we act, react, do, think, worry, enjoy or ponder. Towards this objective, I work in acrylic and watercolor, often inscribe into the paint with graphite and mark-making tools, sometimes adding shimmer and shine here and there, enhancing the vibrant quality, or just for fun. I’m particular about my color palette for each piece, as it is part of the expressive purpose. I generally don’t work for accuracy, though some paintings turn out with more attention to “correctness” than others. In aiming for the communicative and emotional qualities, degrees of abstraction come into play. There’s no formula, only desire and some routine."
