Born on 23.09.1991 in Kazakhstan and living in Germany, Igor Gellert has achieved his master’s degree at the Ruhr-University Bochum. Surprisingly not in the subject of art but in the subject for civil engineering, making him a qualified engineer. The passion always revolts against the human reason.
“Once you seed the colour in your mind, you always want to stand in front of a canvas”- Igor Gellert Igor Gellert’s art is based on traditional hand drawing working with acrylic markers on black canvas. Countless lines creating unique dynamics that transform the idea into uncommon and exclusive art. Igor Gellert says that the black canvas symbolizes the mind focusing only on the idea and blanking everything irrelevant out. However, there is always a glimpse of Gellert’s engineer experience, the lines constantly find their end in an exact edge; be it a face or an animal.
Finding his own style of art and always developing the local focus in the beginning, Gellert started to distribute his paintings in Europe and North America.
