In October 2009, I was sent to an ENT surgeon in Chicago, IL with the intention of removing loose crystals in my ears. After listening to my symptoms for about two minutes, this doctor told me it was not an inner ear problem but something in my brain. He suggested I get it check out quickly. I went through many tests to figure out what was wrong. I was told about the tumor and urged to see a Neurosurgeon immediately. painting, film, and photography.  For the past seven years painting has become my primary focus, and my most satisfying artistic endeavor.  I work with a combination of oils, acrylics, ink, and spray paint on canvas in an abstract expressionistic style I’ve yet to identify with its own “ism”. I began publicly showing my work in 2016 to overwhelmingly positive reviews and have since participated in numerous curated shows, completed several commissions, and have established a small following of collectors.  \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"\"\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"\"\u003e\u003cspan class=\"\"\u003eI see art as a window and a mirror; revealing something deeply personal about the artist, while reflecting truths universal to us all.  I’m deeply inspired by the ever-evolving human condition, often pondering where we, as a species, have been and where we are going.  I’ve found that the subjective yet expressive nature of abstraction is the ideal method for me to explore these complex themes.  The titles of my work, though often intentionally cryptic, are carefully chosen, referencing historical, cultural, scientific, metaphysical, and philosophical ideas. In 2003, a spine disease resulted in a spinal fusion comprising more than two thirds of his spine. In the fall of 2004, at the commencement of construction of the Frost Museum, due to complications he would undergo a lifesaving surgery marking an end and a new beginning; reinvention from architect to visual artist working in the realm of digital media. His work has been exhibited, nationally in solo and group exhibitions including a solo exhibition at the inaugural opening of the Frost Art Museum. His work is in private, corporate and institutional collections, among them the Frost Art Museum Permanent Collection and the Cleveland Clinic Art Collection.
