A selection of artists, curators, and authors will make their contributions to The Undone Ritual as Jonny Star presents and signs her new German/English monograph, See Me, Feel Me, Touch Me, Heal Me, published by Distanz. (Visit Jonny Star’s website for the round-up of artists.)
In the heart of Manhattan, behind a cloaked shop window, a common ritual will unfold, veiled in secrecy.
Through an intimate installation of “Free Your Soul” tapestries, bronze sculptures, and cozy “puff” seats, Star offers a glimpse of what society deems too “explicit” for public eyes and an exploration of our culture’s concealment of and secrecy about common, everyday rituals.
For a peek at some of her works and to gain some insight into her take on “Art, Feminism, and Funny Penises,” check out her conversation with art critic and artist Julia Bardolim, here: http://jonny-star.com/interviews-press/interview-juliana-bardolim/
Join Jonny Star on the 23rd for “a special intervention.”
